“Botanica” features the work of five painters, each with a different stylistic take on the world of flowers, plants, and growing things. The subject matter provides endless inspiration to our creative practices year after year.

Plants have much to teach us about how to live well and live happily, and I titled some of my paintings after words and themes that God keeps bringing up in my mind this year that I also see reminders of in nature: "All These Gifts", "Unhurried and Deliberate" and "Early Risers" are some of these words. In my personal and work life, God has been graciously offering me more lasting contentment when I follow more quiet, intentional rhythms; I love noticing how these rhythms of steadiness and growth are also in the natural world, and that is how it "naturally" operates — “consider the lilies…they neither toil nor spin” (Matthew 6:28").
